Injury Consultation

A full assessment to find what's actually driving your pain, then a clear plan to fix it, not just an assessment and a goodbye. No referral needed. Book straight into a free slot in my diary, usually within a few days, and you leave with exercises to start straight away.

What it's for

For the injury that keeps coming back.

If you've rested it, tried physio, or been discharged and it still isn't right, this is where we start.

What happens

We find the actual problem. Then we build the plan.

No guesswork, no vague advice. A structured assessment that gets to what's really going on.

After your session

The plan doesn't end when you leave.

Every exercise in the app has a video, sets, reps and what it should feel like, so you're never guessing. If something flares up or a movement doesn't feel right, message me and I'll adjust it. At your follow-up we retest what we measured on day one, so progress is something you can see rather than something you hope for.

Before you come

Nothing to prepare. Just turn up.

You'll get a short intake form by email when you book, and I'll have read it before you arrive. Wear gym kit you can move in, shorts if it's a lower body problem. You don't need a gym membership to come, and the room is private.

THE DETAIL

What a consultation actually involves

Sixty minutes, one to one, in a private room at Freedom Fitness Collective on Bank Street in Castleford.

It starts with the history. What you did, when it started, what makes it worse, what you have already tried. Most of the answer is usually in there. Then I test it: range of movement, strength, and the specific tests that rule an injury in or out. Some of it happens on the treatment bed and some on the gym floor, because a knee that feels fine lying down and hurts under load has told me two different things.

You leave with the working diagnosis in plain English, what is driving it, and an honest answer on what it will take to fix. Where it helps, I will use the ForceFrame to put a number on a strength difference rather than guess at it.

The injuries I see most are knee pain, shoulder pain, lower back pain, Achilles and patellar tendinopathy, hamstring strains, and hip and groin pain. Usually in people who lift, run, or play something at the weekend, and who do not want to stop while it settles.

If it is outside what I do, or there is something that needs a GP, I will say so in the session and point you the right way. It does not happen often, and I would rather tell you than take your money.

Most people follow up at 45 minutes for £50, where we retest and progress the plan, or move onto a rehab package. Clients travel in from Castleford, Normanton, Featherstone, Pontefract, Wakefield and Leeds.
